A moon board I created to show inspiration for costumes based on characters from films and TV shows that have similar roles as the characters listed below:
The main protagonist who is the
villain in the film will be wearing an all-black outfit to represent an
atmosphere of darkness on the outside just like her appearance. The outfits I
went for are ranging in styles as we want something that suits both the actress
and the character’s actions. A majority of the outfits are casual wear and it
suits the plotline of the villain being unsuspected and easy to blend into the
crowd. Furthermore on the top row I did a variety of outfit styles etc a
jumpsuit as it may fit into different scenarios. However for the opening scene the casual top
and jeans may be better suited to the events occurring.
The main victim is in her late
20s/early 30s so she has quite a sophisticated grown up look. Most of the
outfits I chose show either ‘chic’ casual wear, dresses and business wear this
gives a range of suggestions on who the victim is and hints to the audience
what her life is like. The victim to symbolise her innocence will have hints of
white or lighter colours in her clothing but to fit in with the sophisticated
look there will be dull colours such as beige, grey and brown.
The daughter of the victim will wear
bright colourful clothing as that’s what’s associated with young children also there
will be a definite pattern as kids clothing tends to go that direction.
The main police officer won’t be
wearing uniform but instead smart wear – either a waistcoat or a long coat. The
colours that will be used will be dark blue and maroon to create an air of seriousness
but also sophistication.
